Bob Piorun was born and raised in Auburn New York and began playing guitar at 12 years of age. He has taught and played music as his sole career for over 60 years having taught over 8,000 people and performed over 10,000 times in many musical settings.
He has played guitar in duos, accompanying many local vocalists, performed in pop/rock groups, big bands, wedding bands, country bands and rock bands. He has played with the Syracuse Symphony, James Galway, Michael Feinstein, The Platters, The Inkspots, and The Coasters to name a few.
He has written 2 guitar instruction books and 1 electric bass method book. Further, he has recorded 7 albums, from Blues to Jazz, to Christmas and Classical. Bob has a gold record for arranging work with a world famous heavy metal group, Manowar.
Bob has his own local TV show, Musically Speaking, which can be viewed on YouTube. He also has a number of instructional videos on YouTube under his name.
Bob plays flute, electric bass, banjo and harmonica as well as guitar. Bob is still very active playing gigs throughout Central New York.
